Ramen Date at Ikkoryu Fukuoka SM Aura
What’s not to love about Japan? We only visited Hokkaido for a week and got to explore Sapporo and nearby cities. The cold weather, fresh seafood, delicious desserts and of course shopping are the top things to do in Sapporo.
We were fortunate to have visited many attractions and tourist spots including Mt. Moiwa, the Beer Garten, and Otaru Canal among others. We indulged in sushi, beer and ramen in Sapporo, it was such a wonderful experience.
It’s a Noodle Kind of Night at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen
Whenever we crave for Japanese food like ramen, gyoza, tonkatsu and matcha latte, we simply look for authentic Japanese restaurants in Manila. We’re glad there’s Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen and it has several branches in the metro. It’s one of the ramen houses we can’t let gyoza of. 🙂
Located at the 2nd level of the main mall, this traditional Japanese restaurant offers mouthwatering dishes served by friendly staff. The open kitchen allows customers to see how their food is being prepared. The SM Aura branch can accommodate about 20 diners. The menu is also simple but with lesser dishes compared to the Ikkoryu SM Megamall branch.
We had their Original Gyoza (Php230) to start with. A delicious, tender-juicy Chicken Karaage (Php230) came next. It has Japanese mayo and a slice of lemon on the side. Since it’s almost dinner, we also ordered their Chashu Yakimeshi, it’s a special fried rice with veggies and meat, served with juicy pork Tonkatsu on top.
Mr. SeatsForTwo ordered one of the best-sellers, the Black Garlic Tonkotsu (Php280). It’s a Tonkotsu soup ramen mixed with special roast garlic oil. The soup is black in color as the name implies. The soup is not too thick but very flavorful. We highly recommend the Black Garlic Tonkotsu if you love garlic and if you are in for a different flavor aside from the regular miso soup.
Wifey ordered Ajitama Tonkotsu (Php230), an original ramen dish of Ikkoryu Fukuoka. It has a flavorful broth topped with a special half-boiled egg that is fully marinated with a special blended soy sauce base. You may also order additional boiled eggs.
We left the restaurant so full. Surprisingly, the price of every dish is affordable compared to other ramen houses in Manila. Even the ingredients are of high-quality such as the noodles. We will definitely visit Ikkoryu for other dishes like Tantan Tonkatsu and the Miso Tonkatsu.
