Matcha Festival at Resorts World Manila

Resorts World Manila along with restaurants such as Impressions, Cafe Maxims, Franks, Ginzadon, Kettle, Mr. Kurosawa and UCC Cafe, recently held its Matcha Festival to showcase creative ways to enjoy matcha, (green tea).

Matcha originated in Japan as a powdered type of green tea and its popularity reached our country. Matcha has been used in different recipes from savory meals to desserts. This is why Newport Mall is setting the stage to showcase the versatility of matcha.

We indulge into savory and sweet desserts, from green tea cheesecake to overloaded green tea milkshakes. There’s even a creation topped with fruits and nuts. One of our favorites is the Nori Fried Chicken Matcha waffle. It’s a Japanese style fried chicken in nori and cajun seasoning topped with white miso butter in a green tea waffle.

UCC cafe has created three delightful matcha treats – green tea sansrival, green tea mouse cheesecake and Japanese green tea brick toast. The coffee shop deserves our two thumbs up!

Meanwhile, Cafe Maxim presented green tea latte served with fluffy green tea croissant filled with dark chocolate and almond flakes.

It was an afternoon of matcha overload. But we did not missed to dropped by the Matcha Art Exhibit located at the ground floor of Newport Mall; brought home local and imported green tea products being sold at The Plaza of the Newport Mall. We hope there will be another matcha festival in the future.
