Red Jade: Manila Hotel Opens New Chinese Restaurant
Manila Hotel remains one of the most charming hotels in the Philippines. They have maintained their function rooms and restaurants opulent and glamorous over the years.
When we received the invitation for an intimate media gathering at Red Jade Chinese Restaurant from Manila Hotel, we thought it was just in time for the upcoming Mid-Autum Festival. And to celebrate this festivity, we had lunch at the newly opened Red Jade restaurant.
We started with 3 kinds of dimsum appetizer comprising of Steamed Shrimp Dumpling “Har Gao“, Crispy Fried Shrimp Stuffed with Cheese and Pan-Fried Radish Cake “Bi Feng Tang” style. Among the three, my favorite is the crispy-outside-but-soft-and-juicy-inside – Shrimp Stuffed with Cheese.
Dimsum lovers may also want to order other classic favorites such as “siomai“, steamed xiao long bao, steamed cristal bao, pan-fried radish cake, steamed red bean & chestnut bun and pan-fried taro cake sausage.
The servings of main dishes started with the huge Lobster Glazed with Sliced Almonds which pleasantly filled-me up way early into the dining experience. It has been a while since I had my last lobster dish.
It was then followed by a series of equally sumptuous servings of Fried Stuffed Scalops with Crab Roes Sauce, Pan-fried Lamb Chops with Red Wine and Honey Pepper Sauce, Braised Lo Han Chai in Taro Ring and Wagyu Beef with Olives Fried Rice.
Among those that came after the lobster, I liked the Dan Dan Noodles best as it had the right blend of sweet and spicy flavors for a noodle soup.
You could know by the taste that each dish was meticulously prepared fresh and made with premium ingredients.
Moreover, apart from these featured dishes, you may also try the Steamed White Sea Bass Fillet in celery sauce, Stir-Fried Australian Scallops with cauliflower in X.O. sauce, and Stir-Fried Tiger Prawns especially prepared by Chef de Cuisine, Sun Bing.
After our filling lunch, our friends from Manila Hotel invited us to take a peek to two of the most expensive suites – the MacArthur and Presidential Suites. Watch this short video in the hotel we have prepared:
