A Quick Sweet Escapade at UP Town
We visited U.P. Town Center twice in December and had a quick sweet escapade at a newly opened milkshake store followed by some Mille crepe at Paper Moon Cafe. Shakeaway is the world’s largest milkshake bar company is now officially in the Philippines! Aside from its popular flavors, Mike and Dave, we found more interesting Filipino flavors like ‘JOSE‘ – made of local ube and sweet macapuno topped with crunchy pinipig.
Shakeaway has combination of ripe fresh fruits, crunchy ice, ice cream / fat free frozen yoghurt with a secret blending process. Every cup offers a smoothie which is full in flavour and refreshing. For health-conscious, Shakeaway also offers healthier and nutritious options.
Some of their world famous “Named Shakes” include the “JOE” which has Nutella and bananas; the “DAVE“, a smooth blend of Ferrero Rocher and kinder bueno with crumbled flake on top. There’s also the “MIKE” which comes with Reese chocolates.
Milkshake are best with fruits. We recommend “ALICE“, a mango and strawberries smoothie topped with kiwi and strawberries;”KIMMY“, which is a real fruit smoothie with peach and pineapples; “TANYA” with mango and pomelo. Customers are given FREE topping of their choice with the named smoothies! You can also choose whether you’d like yours blended with fat-free frozen yoghurt or ice cream.
As for the price, regular size costs Php 190 while the large one is at Php 250. On the other hand, the Named Shakes starts at Php 250, while the large one is at Php 310.
After milkshake, we moved to Papermoon Cafe and tried one of their best-sellers, the Mille Crepe. This delicate dessert was good and best paired with coffee. We also ordered a slice of oreo cheesecake which was served with candy wreath on top. So cute!
