For Sharing: Tien Ma’s Shaved Ice Dessert

If there’s ‘Halo-Halo in the Philippines and ‘Bingsu’ in Korea. Taiwan’s version of shaved ice dessert is more popularly called as “Snow Flower” or “Snow Flakes“.

Natively called Xue Hua Bing, we got to taste an authentic one from our recent visit in Tien Ma’s Retiro and they called it the ‘Super CoolShaved Ice!

Although summer has just ended, who says you can’t have an iced dessert during the rainy days? 🙂 After all, the weather in Manila can still be hot especially with the afternoon’s blazing sun.

Tien Ma’s Shaved Ice is a toss between the Philippines’ very own ‘Halo-Halo‘ and ‘Ice Scramble‘. And since it’s our first time to try this, we ordered the eye-catching ‘Strawberry Banana Sensation‘ variant.

With a smoother and finer shaved ice than our usual halo-halo, this iced dessert could be easily liked even by kids who love it cold and sweet. We think they do have an ice shaver machine to achieve the finely shaved ice.

Moreover, it has sliced bananas and nata de coco on the side; and finished with a drizzle of strawberry syrup and a scoop of ice cream on top. All the varieties contains dairy and fruits.

It comes in a generous serving that can be shared by 2 to 3 persons; a perfect finale dessert you could share with a loved one on a dinner date .

Since we had it as an afternoon snack, we partnered it with dimsum items such as an order of siopao (2 pieces per order) to come along with our Strawberry Shaved Ice.
