HEAL PH Partylist Levels-Up Campaign with Transformative Health Agenda

Whether it’s a local or national race, it’s important to consider the issues you care about. For me, healthcare is one of the things that needs to be addressed.

In a Pandesal Forum held at Kamuning Bakery in Quezon City, HEAL PH emphasized that the HEALCard, in a brief, aims to remove out-of-pocket healthcare costs, especially for the poor.

Staying true to their belief that healthcare is a right, the group pushed for honest and inclusive elections while its nominees lead grassroots efforts nationwide.

HEAL PH Partylist (#152) further gears up for the May 12 elections by reiterating its flagship proposal — the HEALCard!

What is the HEALCard?

HEAL PH made clear in the press conference that their foremost campaign pillar is “Healthcare for All“; a concept  solidified through the aforementioned HEALCard – its centerpiece symbol of hope; as a step toward achieving universal healthcare for Filipinos.

Mag pag-asa ka nang magka health card.

Moreover, first nominee Dr. Eric Tayag, former Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary jovially known as the “Dancing Doctor” for his unique approach to promoting health campaigns, expressed that they also intend to achieve “Sectoral Support“. In particular, implementing tailored programs for families of uniformed personnel, college students, and the vulnerable sector.

The group also wants to further public grassroots engagement through thier “G.O.A.L. Advocacy” which is an acronym for:

  • GGamot (Medicine)
  • OOperasyon (Operation)
  • AAbiso (Advice)
  • LLab Tests (Laboratory Tests)

The latter follows “Doktor ng Bayan” public service framework of famous health advocate Dr. Willie Ong. In fact, they have already started this through the group’s weekly Facebook Live Q&A held every Thursday at 6pm with Dr. Eric Tayag — listening to concerns and sharing local solutions.

HEALCard vis-a-vis PhilHealth

One may consider the HEALCard as a positive intervention in resolving the PhilHealth Fund Transfer issue. The group proposes to do this through a “Bottom to Top Approach” – beginning with those who need it most—empowering barangays and communities before bureaucracy.

Secondly, by “Prioritizing Investment to Jumpstarting Unlimited Medical Coverage” via targeting vulnerable groups first with an ambitious roll-out of unlimited coverage.

And lastly, through a “Multi-Million Fund Transfer Issue to Zero Tolerance Against Corruption“. This shall propose a full transparency and accountability — endorsing “no to waste, yes to integrity“; according to HEAL PH.

The other HEAL PH nominees after Dr. Enrique Tayag includes the following

2. MGen Benito Antonio de Leon (Ret)
3. Dr. Andrew Jimenez
4. Dr. Romulo Busuego
5. BGen Mariano Mejia, MD (Ret)
6. Dr. Jose Jalmasco Duran
7. Atty. Nicolas Lutero III
8. Capt. Edison Choa
