At the Center of Makati: A City Garden Grand Makati Hotel Review (Part 1)
Lounging at the City Garden Grand Hotel roof deck beside the infinity pool was our favorite activity during our recent city staycation. Needless to say, we spent most of our time together simply watching the Makati cityscape, if we’re not in the pool. 🙂
City Garden Grand Makati
The City Garden Grand Hotel is one of the properties of the City Garden Hotel Groups. It is a 4-star business and leisure hotel conveniently located at the corner of Kalayaan Avenue and Makati Avenue at the bustling heart of Makati.
Our 3-days-2-night stay at City Garden Grand Makati was a time-out form the usual home-based work for our social media marketing agency and blogging, Our room was a spacious junior suite at the 31st floor with a spectacular view of the Makati skyline. Most noticeable upon our entry was the high ceiling which is not common in our hotel stays in the Philippines.
There were two toilets, an above-average spacious living room with an entertainment system, dining area, and a mini-kitchen corner complete with a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and coffee-tea facilities. Our bedroom was elegant and the adjacent second toilet and bath tub was spotless.
The room generally embodies a minimalist design with touches of classic highlights. The lovely drapes and the Belgian carpet complemented the overall premium look of both the bedroom and the living room. We would walk around the room barefoot and still feel comfortable care of the wooden floors and the fluffy carpet.
Couple Concerns
One of the primary concerns of couples would be the hotel bed, if you know what I mean (kidding) 🙂 . We have to sleep well, right?! And if you were a family, the child / children’s welfare is added.
City Garden Grand’s king size bed can accommodate two adults and a child, upon our estimate. The soft mattress provided a delightful respite from the long-endured stress of work. Even the pillows and bed sheets were comfy and clean; the same goes for the towels and bath robes.
A bit of a flash-back to our arrival, the hotel’s lobby was busy then, It was an afternoon where local and foreign guests were agog checking-in and out on a busy weekday.
But the roof deck pool at the 32nd floor wasn’t too crowded at that time, perhaps due to the fact that it was a weekday and it was still in business hours. Most of the patrons were foreigners and tourists getting some tan while a couple enjoyed the jacuzzi.
Back at the 31st, our sneaky eyes got a peek of the presidential room which happened to be in the same floor as ours. It was huge and it has own heated jacuzzi upon our inquest from the concierge. 🙂 I guess it’s something to look forward to in our next visit of the hotel.
