Our Manila-Singapore Fly Scoot Experience

Happy New Year folks! Where did you spend the holiday break? Let me take you back to a couple of months ago when we traveled via Scoot Airlines for the first time.

Scoot and Tigerair recently merged under the Scoot brand to bring travelers to their dream destinations. We were present during the said gathering and promised to Fly Scoot soon.

We were both excited since it’s going to be our first time to fly via Scoot, we laughed when we found out that he needed to renew his Philippine Passport. That means I will be traveling abroad solo for the 2nd time. I booked Manila-Singapore via Scoot still hoping someone would join me in this trip.  Later on, I got a word from my mother-in-law.

The fares are definitely cheaper back in September compared to November. We even spotted a Php1,900 MNL-SG back and forth. We paid almost Php7,500 back and forth per person but I booked one way Singapore to Manila on Traveloka to avail a minimal airline discount.

Booking via Scoot was such a breeze, immediately we got our itineraries. There’s an email notification  that reminds you of the upcoming trip.

We left Manila early morning Sunday of November 26 and arrived at the airport at 3:30am. Our flight was scheduled 5:20am. We’re lucky to have our luggage checked-in without extra cost.

Our airfare does not include meals so we make sure to have breakfast at Starbucks NAIA Terminal 1 prior to boarding. By 7am I am already hungry. Scoot offers rice meals and snacks, we had Soon veggie soup and Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale for $20 Singapore dollars if my memory serves me right.

Overall, it was a great experience flying via Scoot. The entire trip was smooth and comfortable, mom and I were able to take a nap during the flight. Our plane landed at nine in the morning at the award-winning Changi Airport in Terminal 2.  First thing we did was to take photos at Changi’s Enchanted Garden using my Vivo V7. You can also visit the new Changi Airport Terminal 4 for additional sightseeing.

Hello Singapore!

Our luggage were intact and in good condition. They were immediately transported to the conveyor so we did not waited too long. It was great to be back in Singapore. The last time we were here was back in 2012 when the marriage proposal happened at Fullerton Hotel. The next year, Seats For Two was born. Staying here is quite expensive and yet Singapore remains to be one of  the favorite tourist destinations.

It was also my first time to travel abroad with a senior citizen. Singapore is recommended tourist destination even for the old and senior citizens. They have one of the best and modern transportation system. The train stations are connected, it’s easy to move from one platform to another. If you happen to visit Singapore, I recommend getting a 3-day Unlimited Singapore Tourist Pass for SGD30 which gives you access to MRT and buses.

This year, we are hoping to visit other countries like Athens or Australia aboard FlyScoot. At present, Scoot has five more Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 39 Airbus. It currently operates a fleet of 15 787 Dreamliners and 23 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
