The Deck Bar @ Meranti Hotel
The Deck Bar at the newly opened Meranti Hotel is cool new hangout spot to spend your payday weekend with friends or family, over good food, beer, and wine.
Have we mentioned that they also offer a scenic view of the Quezon City skyline and nearby urban centers? It’s also an ideal spot for a lovely date while the roofdeck pool glistens under the starry sky while being serenaded with a live jazz music.
Seats For Two @ The Deck Bar
It was our first time to stay at Meranti Hotel and it was a good timing that it was a payday weekend when Meranti Hotel’s roofdeck transforms into a “Deck Bar” restaurant with live perfomances. Of course, we did not let the evening pass without experiencing the Deck Bar while eminiscing our younger years through the music of the 80s and 90s.
The management of Meranti intend to open the Deck Bar by Meranti Hotel on twice a month, on payday weekends with a main mix of Italaian and Filipino dishes and live entertainment. Other cuisines are also available to spice things up a bit.
For starters, we had the Nachos appetiser with sour cream, cheese and marinara sauce.
Then there’s the Fried Calamari and cheese sticks served with salsa on the side.
The beverages began with three types of liquor infused beverages – Mojito, Tequila Sunrise and Blue Lagoon. These are available by the glass or by carafe.
After trying some variants, the Cheese stick with dip got our two thumbs up!
Mains
Specializing in Pinoy dishes, Deck Bar boasts of having a variety of selection from Osobuko Braised Beef in tomato base with white wine to the Salmon Cake with rocket pico de galo.
They also created a fusion of Spanish and Pinoy flavors with their Salpicao.
The serving size is recommended for two to three persons.
All the dishes were good and flavorful but you should not miss the Osobuko Braised Beef.
Oh, by the way, don’t miss Deck Bar‘s soft Cheesecake dessert made with sour cream and some love. The Jello Shots Gelatin with vodka provided a unique refreshing treat to the palate. It’s best paired with the Osobuko Braised Beef menitoned above.
Feeling tipsy? Just proceed to the ground floor for a brewed coffee served at Maple by Meranti Hotel. It’s the same Maple Restaurant we all familiar with. They are now open all day from breakfast to late night snacks and coffee.
