Celebrating Our Wedding Anniversary at Peninsula Manila
It’s our 9th year wedding anniversary and so we decided to go out to celebrate this special occasion. The past two years was spent at home, nothing special because of the pandemic. Despite of the many challenges in the past, we remain grateful to God because He continuously blessed our marriage.
Since we are in Alert Level 2, with Covid-19 cases dropping down, we felt that it’s safe to go out for an overnight staycation within the city and so we book at The Peninsula Manila. It’s posh, elegant five-star hotel in Makati.
Before check-in, we had South East Asian comfort food at Nanyang in Greenbelt. A delicious Hainanese Chicken Rice, Kaya Toast with Kopi (coffee, condensed milk and evaporated milk) and a glass of cold barley juice.
The hotel is just a few minutes away from Greenbelt where we had lunch. We passed by the not so busy underpass. We saw only a few people outside, perhaps most are still working-from-home and besides it’s still office hours. But truly, we missed the busy streets and malls in Makati. We hope that everything will be back just the way it was.
At the hotel, guests are required to register by scanning the QR Code and answer the health declaration. It’s easy and won’t take much of your time though. Checked-in was such a breeze, we were allowed for early check-in and late check-out.
Our room has flat television with cable, coffee and tea facilities. Teas were from TWG by the way. We love soaking in a hot tub with luxurious toiletries from Oscar de la Renta collection.
A huge serving of special pork adobo, tender and juicy longanisa with egg were served for breakfast along with plated fruits and bread basket. Hot coffee, coco and chilled juice were also included.
Most of the facilities were open like the swimming pool and fitness center (gym), except for the buffet restaurant. In the afternoon, you can go for high tea and enjoy a classical music playing on upper level.
