Museum Foundation of the Philippines Launches “Ang Museo”
The Museum Foundation of the Philippines Inc. (MFPI) launches Ang Museo – Gawad ng Museum Foundation of the Philippines – a nationwide tribute celebrating 40 years of shared love for Philippine heritage.
As the leading supporter of museums in the country, MFPI, guided by a rigorous selection process led by experts in culture and heritage, will organize this endeavor grounded in their core values of love of country, effective collaboration, integrity & trust, inclusivity, and the pursuit of excellence.
Touted as the first-ever award from the private sector that exclusively honors excellence in museum practice in the Philippines, this will be the cornerstone of the Museum Foundation PH‘s 40th anniversary.
Ang Museo
Ang Museo is a national tribute to the unsung community cultural stewards: the independent gallery owners, regional museum workers, and university-run spaces nationwide, who tirelessly preserve the Filipino story, driven by a “Shared Love” for our heritage.
It is open to all museums in the Philippines, whether public or private, including those run by LGUs, educational institutions, or heritage organizations, as well as to individuals such as museum administrators, curators, educators, and other museum professionals.
Applications opens tomorrow – March 15, with a standard entry fee of Php3,000 for all categories. The submission deadline is May 15, 2026.
