First Bite @ Murray and D’Vine
The Murray and D’Vine restaurant has been around since One Serendra was opened several years ago. And we simply pass by the pub- restaurant frequented by foreign nationals who want some cold beer, good ‘ol burgers, and great company.
But a few weeks ago, we were able to finally set foot into the old haunt upon the invitation of The Bistro Group; the new owners of Murray and D’Vine. Yes, you heard it right, together with Texas Roadhouse, Denny’s, and Moe’s, Murray & D’Vine joins Bistro’s expanded list of new restaurant brands for 2016.
Having a reputation that came with being named as the No.1 expat bar in Serendra, BGC, this so-called “biggest little bar” is no longer just a place for expatriates. They intend to cater to other market segments as well, moving forward.
Upon entering, we were surprised that they had a second floor (excuse the first-timer couple 🙂 ). And it was a quaint one cozily placed above the main bar on the first level. The loft-type walls along the stairways held a collection of wine options and lighted signages of bar quotes and menu finds.
For starters, we had some appetisers and flatbreads which is a specialty of the house.
After trying some variants, the Fried Mozzarella, Spinach & Cream Cheese Dip, and Spinach & Onion Flatbread ended in our top recommendation list.
Murray and D’Vine Burgers
Specializing in homemade burgers, Murray and D’Vine boasts of having a large selection of popular bar food and famous burger variants including the tempting Philly Cheese Steak, a sizeable stack of delicious beef burger topped with tender beef slices with cheddar and Swiss cheese, red and green bell peppers, and sautéed onions.
But we decided to try their famous Juicy Lucy with a heart-shaped bun, an original creation using quality beef stuffed with Swiss or Cheddar cheese and caramelized onions. It was good, and of course, very much ‘instagrammable‘.
Other burger variants include the classic Cheese & Bacon Burger, Beef Burger Sliders, and the Perfect Sampler which is a combination of baby back ribs, buffalo wings, and beef sliders (P695).
Oh, by the way, did you know that this nightly fixture has a P98 cocktails and draft beer priced at only P60 available before 7 pm daily?
