Snow Ice Dessert At Cold Layers
We’ve been to Fisher Mall around three or four times since it was opened a couple of years ago. Sometimes I do my seafood shopping at Fisher Supermarket or dine at Sweet Chili restuarant. A couple of weeks ago, we found a nice dessert place to hangout. Cold Layers first open its doors in Greenhills and now found a new home in Fisher Mall in Quezon City. They offered artisanal snow ice in various flavors. You can choose from a wide variety of toppings like fruits, red bean, corn flakes, mung bean and a lot more. Are you excited for the snow ice? Before that, let’s start with hot meals.
Aside from snow ice and snacks, did you know that Cold Layers serves breakfast, lunch and dinner meals? We started with Potato Wedges, a delicious finger food while waiting for our heavy meal. We love that it’s not too oily and the dip goes well with potatoes.
Four kinds of soup are available in the menu – pumpkin, potato chowder, tomato soup and French Onion which I find very comforting on a cold weather.
We were served with Chicken parmigiana and Pork Teriyaki complete with fried rice. Chicken Parmigiana comes with side tomato based dressing and garnish. Marjorie had more than enough of creamy and saucy Putanesca though.
Cold Layers Artisanal Snow Ice
Cold Layers is a dessert cafe serving artisanal snow ice desserts as popularized in other Asian countries like Taiwan, Japan and Singapore. Cold Layers’ snow ice is made from natural ingredients, combining the unique concept of ice shaving with fresh fruits and other toppings.
We had five flavored snow ice. The melt-in-you mouth Horlicks (malted milk) is the crowd’s favorite. It’s creamy and has the right sweetness.
The avocado snow ice was very refreshing. The avocado slices on the side were not bitter and goes well with the right sweetness of snow ice.
I think the ‘Meant To Be‘ is for couples who love matcha like SeatsForTwo. It’s a green tea snow ice with red beans and cornflakes.
Another favorite is the ‘Something Cheesy’ and yes it’s cheese flavor snow ice.
We’ve tried other shaved ice but Cold Layers’ snow ice is one of the best when it comes to consistency and texture. Every scoop from layers of silky, creamy sweetness is truly a delight. We love that Cindy has come up with healthy fruit variants like the avocado and strawberry. They also have taro and soy flavors. Per order ranges from P100-P150 and can be shared by two, well depending on your appetite.
