Healthy, Ready-to-Eat Viands from Purefoods
Cooking is something I enjoyed doing everyday. During the lockdown, I tried different recipes and even learned how to bake. If only I can stay longer in the kitchen wearing my apron I will, but I also play other roles. I need to manage my time effectively. During busy days, I turn to ready-to-eat meals.
Meal planning may not be appealing to all of us but I learned how to do it over time. I cook three times a day, sometimes even four when I feel like making something special for meryenda. We love saucy dishes but it takes time to cook. Pork Humba is one of my favorites, I usually cook it in slow cooker.
I learned how to cook from my mom. When I was eleven, I started collecting recipes from newspapers and magazines. Until now, I enjoy watching cooking shows like Home Foodies with Chef Llena Tan. Their recipes are easy to follow and budget-friendly. In their page, they shared a new product from Purefoods called Ready-to-Eat viands.
I’m glad there’s Purefoods Ready-to-Eat viands. These are slow-cooked viands in microwavable containers. Purefoods Ready-to-Eat is available in nine viands – Beef Kare-kare, Caldereta, Pork Humba, Beef Pares, Bicol Express, Lechon Paksiw, Bistek Tagalog, Pork Binagongan and Chicken Afritada. As of this writing, we’ve tried four of them, pork binagoongan, beef kare-kare chicken afritada and lechon paksiw.
Purefoods Chicken Afritada has thick and flavorful sauce. I didn’t add veggies but it was fine. I wanted something special the next day so I served Purefoods Beef Kare-kare. This time, I added veggies that I bought from Session Groceries. There’s sliced eggplant, beans and Chinese pechay. We love the Beef kare-kare in saucy peanut sauce.
I was excited to try the Purefoods Ready-to-Eat Pork Binagoongan. We had it for lunch and the leftover, I added in pinakbet for dinner. Pork Binagoongan is one of my personal favorites. It’s a bit spicy, you’ll ask for more rice.
