Seats For Two was invited to an intimate lunch at CRU Steakhouse for the launch of new items in their menu; plus a select returning favorites. The new dishes features Omi Wagyu (A-5) Striploin Steak and grass-fed Portoro Steak, among others.
CRU Steakhouse is a fine-dining restaurant located inside Marriott Hotel Manila‘s Great Room area. They are known for their fresh salad, great wine selections and of course, steaks that are to-die-for! With the easing of alert levels in the metro and more people visiting the hotel, they wanted to welcome guests with new dishes and some of their favorites awaiting for their return.
The intimate lunch was graced by Chef Meik Brammer and friends from the Marriott Manila team.
After a casual welcoming remarks, we started with Stuffed Chicken Wing Chestnut Cream with glazed duck jus, Palawan honey sauce, celery twirl.
And of course, the highlight of our meal were the premium steaks – tender-juicy Portoro Steak (Grass-fed) Rib Eye and Omi Wagyu (A-5) Striploin Steak. The latter is considered to be one of Japan’s top three wagyu next to Kobe and Matsusaka Beef.
Up next came the U.S. Certified Angus Beef Sliders. Small but definitely packed in flavor and served in brioche bread bun, with truffle mushroom, melted Monterey jack cheese, salad tomato, and onions.
Another unforgettable fare in the launch was the Seared Goose Liver. The foie gras was made even more special with dates herb chutney, chevre milk bread, baked apple swirl, butterscotch soil and maple sauce.

Delightfully Sweet Endings
Capping our lunch were colorful desserts. Fruits and chocolates took center stage in this series as sweets craftsmanship placed an exclamation mark at the finale of our fine-dining experience.
