Max’s Restaurant Celebrates 77th Anniversary
Many of us have fond memories at Max’s restaurant. I can still remember our simple house blessing where we had Max’s food served to our guests. This October, Max’s celebrates its 77th anniversary of serving.
The brand looks back to where it all began amidst the ashes of the Post-World-War-2 era, when Stanford-educated teacher Maximo Gimenez would host his American GI friends for drinks in his home along Scout Tuazon, Quezon City—with his niece Ruby Trota giving birth to the signature fried chicken recipe, with its iconic pairing of Banana Ketchup and a tangy dash of Worcestershire Sauce to go with a hearty side of kamote fries and piping-hot dinner rolls.
Since then, this home-crafted dish has grown to become a sentimental favorite among generations of Pinoy families, both in the Philippines and across such geographies as the United States of America, Canada, the Middle East, and Singapore, where Max’s has likewise spread through the decades to bring pride to Filipino cuisine. Thus, as a way to give thanks to both new and loyal fans, special deals and surprises are lined up throughout the entire month of October.
A Tribute To Max & Ruby
This momentous 77th anniversary pays homage to its founders, Maximo Gimenez and Nanay Ruby by sharing an exclusive treat with anyone bearing the same name. Diners who have either “Max” or “Ruby” in their name can get a free Pancit from October 18 to 23. They simply need to show their identification or social media account to the store to avail this beloved Max’s house special for a minimum purchase of P500.
Pinoy Celebration Stickers
As brand that is proudly Filipino, Max’s will be collaborating with popular Pinoy artists for limited-edition sticker packs that reflect the fun and vibrant culture of the country as well as the brand’s signature favorite dishes. This year, the brand is glad to partner with award-winning illustrator Robert Alejandro, one of the pillars of Papemelroti; critically-acclaimed artist Manix Abrera, the man behind the popular Kikomachine Komix; and Chinggay Nuque, widely known as Tita Witty, the creator and co-owner of fun and humorous journals of Witty Will Save the World.
Chickie Boy Challenge
Dancing will always be part of any celebration, as any true-blooded Filipino would tell you. For the anniversary month, Max’s trademark mascot Chickie Boy will be inviting everyone to a dance challenge through Instagram and Facebook. Check out the link posted on the brand’s social media pages to start busting a move or interacting with Chickie Boy. Fans who use the filter – whether as a post, a story, or a reel, get a free ice-cold Samalamig of their choice. Just show the post using the filter at any branch across the country.
Max’s Wishbone
For 77 years, Max’s has been spreading happiness through good food. To bring more joy and surprise to its valued guests, it will act as a virtual wishbone for Pinoys by giving out special Max’s wish packages to 77 lucky fans. This will be done through an online contest. Just state the reason why a loved one deserves a celebration at Max’s, and share the brand post on Facebook. The first 77 to share the post and their party wish will win a set meal worth P8,000.
